BASIC FACTS: Self Portrait is a picture of you, taken by you, during the week of the challenge.There's a reason you see such a wide variety of languages in the sentence above ??. 52Frames is a truly ?global? community of creative photography enthusiasts. The first week of the year is usually when we have a great many new members join us on our photography journey, so I'd like to welcome all of you to our little corner of the Internet - our community members are helpful, kind, civil and loads of fun; you'll fit right in.
As is tradition, Week 1 is always Self Portrait week (not a casual selfie) - we encourage everyone to lose their inhibitions and sometimes face a little discomfort of being on the "wrong" side of the camera. This is when you're telling everyone: "Hey world, this is me!". Whether you choose to portray your quirks, passions, or vulnerabilities, your photo would do well to show off a unique facet of your persona. It's a canvas where you play artist and muse simultaneously, unraveling tales through expressions, settings, and subtle details. It's about baring your soul in pixels, capturing the very essence that makes you, well, you! The magic lies in authenticity—embracing imperfections, exploring depths, and painting a visual story that speaks volumes. And a self portrait is a portrait of YOU taken with whatever camera you choose by YOU.
