HOW LONDON CREPT BACK INTO OUR HEARTS
Our previous trip to the UK, just like this one, was initiated by T’s work obligations. Unfortunately, our first encounter had some ups and downs, especially in London (read more about that here).
This time around, England gave us its all to erase the bad and ugly memories of our first trip and enhance the good by so much more.
I’ve decided to sidestep my conventional blog style a bit for this one. I was falling asleep writing it and felt sorry for my few subscribers that had to read it. Instead, I’ve decided on a list and mostly showcase our photos.
Here’s my list of why England was just glorious in every way.
1) To start with, and most importantly, I was able to hang onto my phone… YAY!
2) London’s Parks
London’s parks were something out of a children’s fairytale.
3) Horse guard practice
I stumbled upon the practice of the horse guard in Hyde Park.
4) Big Ben / Clock Tower
Big Ben really showed off after he was closed during our previous visit.
5) Food & Borough Market
5.1) The Food, as always. But a special mention has to go to Franco Manca, for some of the best Italian we’ve had.
5.2) Borough Market has to be any foodie’s dream. During lunch, the atmosphere explodes with all the people meeting for a grab of food. I especially enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich.
6) Architecture
6.1) The pickle really tickled my fancy, along with a few others.
6.2) I loved taking arty farty photos of Millennium Bridge & St Paul’s Cathedral.
7) London’s quirky side.
Conclusion.
We really could not fault London this time around. The weather was great, and the people were friendly. I might even say London won our hearts.
I’ve spent most of my time exploring alone, and in a future post, I’ll venture out of London a bit. But first, on T’s only off day, he went with me to tick off a bucket list item.
Warner Bro’s Studio / Harry Potter World, here we come.
