Exploring Singapore

Join me as I capture Singapore’s stunning blend of modern architecture and natural beauty in this week’s 52Frames journey! Spending a week here allowed me to tackle two unique photography challenges—Panorama and On the Ground—while exploring iconic sights like the Cloud Forest and Gardens by the Bay. You’ll see Singapore’s breathtaking architecture at Marina Bay Sands, an unforgettable shot of the supermoon over the skyline, and immersive photos from some of the city’s most vibrant places. Whether you’re into travel, cityscapes, or nature photography, this video has a bit of everything.

Photographing city lights in Dubai

My two 52Frames challenges were "Blue Hour" and "Beautiful View." So, I decided to photograph the best version of Dubai: its city lights. I photographed a newly built Mosque close to our apartment and tried my hand at a panorama on a hot and humid night. The Panorama was taken from Dubai's Palm of the Dubai Marina all the way to Ain Dubai. Tertius, my husband, also assisted me with some of the behind-the-scenes footage (thanx).

Botswana

During the chaotic week of the 52 Frames, we were in Botswana. It was a trip filled with adventure from game drives, boat trips, helicopter rides, and so much more. We visited Chobe national park as well as Victoria Falls. I also get to take some ground level wildlife photos from Senyati's underground hide.

About T & Me

We are originally from South Africa and relocated to Dubai in 2017.

First, let's go a bit into my “roots”…

My dad is a keen amateur photographer, and I have always loved assisting him.

He and my mom started travelling a few years back (mostly in and around South Africa), and it became their favourite past of time.  The travel bug and love, especially for the African bush, complemented the hobby of photography.  Please feel free to check out their travel blog on lani4travel.com

Tertius, a.k.a. T (my husband, friend, and travel companion), started travelling at a young age when he had the opportunity to tour Europe with a group during his school years. Since then, his studies and career have taken the driver’s seat.

After making a career move to another company, T got a few opportunities to travel for work. That’s when he and my parents encouraged me to tag along and go see the world with him.  Only after I went to Sweden did I tell my dad that I would love to learn more about photography and start taking more creative photos rather than the regular “point and shoot” shots.  He assisted with some hand-me-down equipment and some tips.

Now, it feels like we are based in the “main station” towards endless travel opportunities.

I do hope our love for travel, along with my new photography enthusiasm, will reflect in our blog.

Wandering off now…
